Because we are running what is basically a "brochure site", we don't change website technologies very often. In fact, starting from our founding in 2009, we stayed on Drupal 5 until we were forced to move to Drupal 7 (skipping Drupal 6) due to a PHP version EOL. We have remained on Drupal 7 ever since, and are happy with what the people from Drupal 4 Ever have been doing for us. But now, facing an EOL for Drupal 7, we are converting our site to Backdrop CMS because they seem to be more aligned with us as a business, and have a commitment to slower upgrade cycles than Drupal.
This dynamic and interactive website is perfect for a travel blog. It includes a map with travel destinations, a section for blog posts, and vibrant photos from different locations. The design aims to capture the excitement and diversity of travel experiences.
We started off on Wordpress in 2022, but the cost of all of the subscriptions started to add up, and we couldn't get exactly what we wanted, despite the massive number of modules. What really turned us off of WordPress was the turmoil between WordPress.com and WPEngine.com, which shook our confidence in the WordPress ecosystem, so we opted to move to Backdrop CMS because they are a low/no drama project.
